Herndon Reston Youth Softball

HRYS is a girls' fastpitch softball league serving players ages 6 to 18 in the greater Herndon-Reston, Virginia area. Many of our girls go on to play on their high school Varsity and JV teams. Separate spring and fall competitive house seasons are run with the objective of serving all the girls of the community regardless of skill level. A separate summer-fall All-Stars/Travel program provides those girls interested in additional softball experience a chance to compete in tournaments and the Babe Ruth Tournament trail.
HRYS is also an active member of the Loudoun County Softball Alliance (LCSA). LCSA is a cooperation between local area softball leagues bringing quality competitive softball to our local communities.

Youth Sports Scholarship Program
The Fairfax County Neighborhood and Community Services (NCS) provides registration fee scholarships and

Glory Teams
From the house league season, HRYS All-Star Summer Glory teams are selected and play in the annual tournament trail from June through August. Our All-Star Summer Glory teams participate in Babe Ruth District competitions with winners advancing to the State and Regional levels. HRYS All-Star Summer Glory teams also compete in 4-5 highly competitive softball tournaments and in a summer all-star league.

Babe Ruth Softball
Herndon Reston Youth Softball is proud to continue its affiliation with
Babe Ruth Softball. The primary emphasis of Babe Ruth Softball is on the local league season: education, skill development, participation for players at all levels of athletic ability, and to ensure participants have FUN. Babe Ruth IS an international Community-Centric Youth-Focused Support organization dedicated to helping local leagues provide the best possible playing experience to the youth they serve.
*All HRYS coaches are
certified by Babe Ruth Softball.

Babe Ruth is NOT "Just Rec Ball"
Babe Ruth is a youth specific league focused on skills development, open play and fun for all ages.
Babe Ruth is NOT "Travel Ball"
Babe Ruth focuses on healthy developmental league play culminating in post season tournament play for qualified and interested players.
Babe Ruth Tournament Trail is NOT "Summer Ball"
Babe Ruth Tournament Trail is a season extension opportunity for a subset of the original League registered players.

January Board Meeting Date Changed
The January Board meeting has been changed to January 15, 7 PM at the Kingston Chase clubhouse, 1623 Hiddenbrook Drive, Herndon, VA 20170. All are welcome to attend.

Winter Clinic Information
HRYS is once again proud to announce its 2011/2012 Winter Softball Skills Clinics. As in past years, the Winter clinics will be on 11 Sunday afternoons from December through March. These clinics are a great way to stay sharp for the spring and are conducted by our high school coaches in addition to your house league coaches.

Grades K - 6th ...... 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM
Pitching/Catching .. 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM
Grades 7-12 ......... 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
We need parents to step forward to fill key spots on the Board as these board members finish up their terms. The next board meeting is January 15th at the Kingston Chase Clubhouse. See the HRYS calendar for details.
